These terms govern your use of klawiter.com, operated by Klawiter Group, LLC d/b/a Klawiter ("Klawiter," "we," "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

What this site is

klawiter.com is a marketing and portfolio site for our interior design practice. It exists so you can see our work and get in touch.

There is nothing to buy here. There are no accounts to create, no subscriptions, and no payments. The only interactive feature is a contact form.

What using this site does not create

Viewing this site, or sending us a message through it, does not create a client relationship between you and Klawiter. We become your designer when we sign an agreement with you, and not before.

Nothing on this site is professional advice. Project descriptions, photographs, and written material are presented to show what we have done, not to guide what you should do in your own space. Every project has constraints that are not visible in a photograph.

Content and intellectual property

The site itself

The design, layout, written text, and arrangement of this site are ours, and are protected by copyright. The Klawiter name and logo are our trademarks.

Photography and project imagery

Photographs on this site come from more than one place. Some were taken by us. Many were taken by professional photographers who retain copyright in their own work and have licensed it to us for the purposes for which it appears here.

We publish these images under the rights we hold. Publication here is not a transfer of those rights to you, and it is not a grant of any license to reuse the images. We are not in a position to give you permission to use a photograph that belongs to someone else.

Some projects were completed under confidentiality terms that limit what may be shown or described. What appears here reflects those limits.

What you may and may not do

You may view the site, and you may share links to it.

You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or create derivative works from the site's content, including photographs, without our written permission. You may not use automated tools to scrape or systematically download the site. You may not use our name, logo, or imagery in a way that suggests we endorse you or have worked with you when we have not.

Ordinary, limited quotation of the site with attribution — the kind a journalist, critic, or researcher would make — is fine, and nothing here is intended to restrict rights you have under copyright law.

If you believe your rights are being infringed

If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright or other right you hold, email info@klawiter.com with a description of the material, where it appears, and the basis for your claim. We will look into it promptly and remove or correct anything we should not be publishing.

We would rather hear from you directly than through a lawyer, and we will treat the request seriously either way.

Links to other sites

The site may link to sites we do not operate — publications that have covered our work, vendors, collaborators. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

Messages you send us

Anything you send through the contact form is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Please do not send us confidential information through the form. It is not a secure channel and we cannot treat unsolicited submissions as confidential. If you have something sensitive to discuss, tell us that, and we will find a better way to talk.

If you send us an unsolicited idea, suggestion, or proposal, we are not obligated to keep it confidential, to compensate you for it, or to refrain from pursuing something similar.

The site is provided as-is

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either. The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Project descriptions, photographs, and other material may become out of date. Photographs are representations of completed work and may not reflect a space's current condition.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Klawiter will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this site, or out of your inability to use it.

This does not limit any liability that cannot be limited under California law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of the site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we do, we will post the revised version here and update the effective date at the top. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
